Professor Rob Poole

Principal Investigator

Professor of School Psychiatry at Bangor University, Rob had 21 years of experience as an NHS consultant before taking his first substantive academic appointment in 2009.

He became the Co-Director of the Centre for Mental Health and Society in 2012 and an Honorary Research Lead with NCMH in 2015.

His work is widely published including two books, co-authored with Robert Higgo, on clinical skills, which have gained national and international recognition.

Rob’s long-term research and academic interests centre on clinical skills and issues of clinical importance that affect deprived and marginalised people.
