Bipolar and postpartum psychosis
PREgnancy Planning StudyPREP Study
We have now stopped recruiting for this project and are very grateful for the response we have received.
You will find any future updates on the project and its progress on the NCMH website.
About the project
At the National Centre for Mental Health (NCMH) we are working with Action on Postpartum Psychosis (APP), Bipolar UK and women with lived experience of bipolar and/or postpartum psychosis to develop a new guide to use and personalise when making decisions related to pregnancy and the postpartum period.
We have developed an initial version of the interactive guide and are now asking for the help of women who have a diagnosis of bipolar or previous postpartum psychosis to help us. We are looking for women who are considering pregnancy, planning a pregnancy or are currently pregnant to help us test the guide and provide us with their feedback on it. The feedback will be analysed and used to inform improvements to the guide.
What would taking part involve?
• An opportunity to hear more about the project and ask any questions that you may have before providing consent to take part in the project.
• A brief telephone or video call discussion to ask you questions about yourself and completing questionnaires before using the guide.
• Posting out a copy of the guide for you to use at home.
• A telephone discussion or video call and completing questionnaires after you have used the guide to hear your feedback on it.
