Writing Out PTSD

Join us on Thursday 2nd February to learn more about PTSD and how writing therapy helped author and police and army veteran, Matt Johnson in his recovery.
There will be an opening talk from Matt, followed by a Q&A session with Dr. Neil Kitchiner about the effects of PTSD and research undertaken at NCMH.
You'll also have the opportunity to chat to both speakers, as well as having your copy of 'Wicked Game' signed.

Army veteran, former police officer and author, Matt talks about his experiences of PTSD and how he went on to write 'Wicked Game', published in 2012.


Q&A with Matt and Neil


Talk from Dr Neil Kitchiner

Dr Neil Kitchiner, Principal Clinician at Veterans NHS Wales, will discuss other potential symptoms of PTSD as well as the different treatment options available.


Refreshments/ book signing

You will have the opportunity to have your copy of 'Wicked Game' signed by Matt Johnson and to enjoy some light refreshments.

Spaces are limited, so please make sure you book a ticket which includes a copy of Matt's book, 'Wicked Game', and refreshments during the event.

Getting here

There are a number of bus routes which stop on West Bute Street.

There is ample bicycle park facilities available, with a growing cycle network in and around Cardiff.

The closest train stations are Cardiff Bay station (just a 2 minute walk) and Cardiff Central station (22 minute walk).

There is on street parking available near the venue after 6pm.
