Meet the Brain and Genomics Hub: new centre shares plans to advance mental health research

On Tuesday, 30 September, the Brain and Genomics Hub officially launched at Cardiff University’s Hadyn Ellis Building. The research hub marks a major step forward in transforming how we understand, diagnose, and treat severe mental health conditions like psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and schizoaffective disorder.

A tribute to Professor Ian Jones for 11 years of leadership

We pay tribute to Professor Ian Jones as he steps down from his role as Director of the National Centre for Mental Health (NCMH). This marks the end of an era which has been defined by scientific excellence, visionary leadership, and deep commitment to improving the lives of people affected by mental illness. He is succeeded by Professor Jon Bisson who took over as director in April 2025.
