Help with our research into mental health and dementia

About the study

We are working to find the causes and triggers of mental ill-health and cognitive disorders, such as dementia.

If you have experienced schizophrenia, psychosis, depression, bipolar disorder or dementia, help us make a difference by taking part in our latest research study.

We need as many people as possible to take part – wherever you live in the UK.

Taking part is easy and involves:
  • A brief meeting with a trained researcher, either at your home, in a local clinic or remotely
  • Providing a blood sample
  • Completing and returning some questionnaires.

What will we ask?

We will ask questions about your mental and physical health and lifestyle, and about yourself, like age and ethnic group. We’ll also ask for your contact details.

How long will it take?

Around five minutes to read the consent sheet, and 15-60 minutes to answer the questions.

Who will have access to my data?

Only the study team will have access to your data and only they will contact you directly. All information collected during the research will be kept strictly confidential. There are strict laws that safeguard your privacy at every stage.

By the Data Protection Act, your personal information will be kept confidential by assigning a unique study code to your data. Your name and identifying information will not be passed on to anyone. Our privacy policy has more information, and you can contact us with any queries.
