About the study
The Nurture-U Research Project is a UK-wide study working to make university life better for students everywhere. It is funded by the Medical Research Council, the Arts and Humanities Research Council, and the Economic and Social Research Council.
It brings together six universities: Cardiff, Exeter, King’s College London, Oxford, Southampton, and Newcastle, and works closely with the U-Flourish Centre at Queen’s University, Canada, which began its mission to improve student wellbeing back in 2018.
At Cardiff University, the project is led by Dr Liz Forty from the National Centre for Mental Health.
So far, more than 12,000 students have shared their experiences, including around 1,500 from Cardiff, helping us learn:
- How students are feeling
- What causes stress
- What helps them stay well
- And how these experiences differ from person to person
Your feedback helps shape better services, resources, and support systems for all students. Read our recent findings.
