NCMH: ten years of mental health research

This October we're marking our tenth anniversary as the National Centre for Mental Health (NCMH) with an afternoon of talks.

Over the last ten years you’ve volunteered by sharing your experiences, writing blogs, representing NCMH at events and taking part in social media campaigns, which we’re so grateful for.

Thanks to over 24,000 of you we’ve developed our understanding of the causes of mental health problems, enabling us to develop, study and trial new interventions in mental health such as treatments for PTSD and maternal mental health difficulties.

To celebrate our collective achievements and outline our future plans, we’re hosting a webinar on Tuesday 12th October 2021 at 1pm for an afternoon of talks from team NCMH.

We’re also so proud of what everyone has been able to achieve over the last year and a half with how COVID-19 has impacted how we work, yet we continue to strive for:

  • The advancement of mental health and learning disability research in Wales.
  • Engagement with patients, their families, the wider public and third sector organisations to increase understanding of mental health illness and the need for research.
  • Change in the research culture in health and social care services.

Please register to join us online. We’re looking forward to seeing you there.

Diolch yr fawr to everyone who’s helped us on our journey so far.
