NCMH hosts annual research conference

The Centre hosted the second annual Cardiff and Vale University Health Board Mental Health Research and Development Meeting on 4th December 2013.

Representatives from NISCHR, Swansea University, University of Manchester and Cwm Taf UHB joined Cardiff and Vale UHB staff at the event, which was held at the SWALEC stadium in Cardiff.

The meeting brought together researchers, mental health professionals and academics to share ideas and discuss opportunities for future developments.

Speakers on the day covered a wide range of topics from funding opportunities to public engagement techniques and ways that databases could be used to enhance research.
The meeting also featured a research poster competition, with the judges awarding prizes to Katie Lewis of the MRC Centre for Neuropsychiatric Genetics and Genomics (MRCNGG) and the NCMH field team.

NCMH Director Professor Nick Craddock said: “Thank you to all who attended the day, which was characterised by lively discussion and some fascinating ideas.”
