Theatre company aims for repeat of Alzheimer’s charity success

In 2013, Monstrous Productions theatre company raised over £3000 for Alzheimer’s Research UK with an adaptation of Sir Terry Pratchett’s novel Carpe Jugulum.

Now the company hopes to repeat their success with a production of his popular 1987 novel Mort.

In this comedy, directed by former NCMH Psychology Assistant Amy Davies, Death becomes bored of his work and takes a holiday among the living, leaving hapless teenage apprentice Mort in his place with hilarious results.

Monstrous Productions specialises in performing stage versions of work by the award winning fantasy author, who himself was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s Disease in 2007.

The production, sponsored by NCMH, takes place at the Gate Arts Centre in Roath, Cardiff, from 29th January – 1st February.

Tickets cost £8 for adults and £6 concessionary, and are available online.
