Could you become an NCMH Research Champion?

If you’ve taken part in our research you’ve already made an important contribution to helping us understand mental illness and how we can fight it in the future. But if you’d like to do more, you can now become an NCMH research Champion.

All you have to do is tell us your story – we want to know about your experiences, why you chose to help with our research, and what volunteering was like for you.

To make it as easy as possible, we’ve prepared a short questionnaire to give you some ideas on what to write about.

We’ve also posted a piece by our first Research Champion, Laura from Cardiff, as an example.

Once you’ve completed the questionnaire, we will use some or all of your answers to promote NCMH online and in print, so that your story can inspire others to take part in mental health research.

At the same time, it will also provide us with useful feedback so that we can improve the way we work.

You can tell us as much or as little as you like (even a single sentence is helpful) and  you don’t even have to give your name if you prefer not to.

We will ask for your email and phone number so that we can double check with you before we post your story on our website, but we will never share your contact information with anyone.

By sharing your story, you can help to break down stigma and encourage more people to come forward and help us to understand mental illness.

Remember, only provide us with information that you are happy to share publicly.
