#ResurrectYourMo at the NCMH Movember Launch

The National Centre for Mental Health (NCMH) joins forces with the Movember Foundation on Friday 30th October to launch Cardiff’s Movember 2015 campaign at DEPOT.

The launch party will encourage past Movember fundraisers to bring their moustaches ‘back from the dead’ for this year’s campaign, as well as recruiting new ‘Mo Bros’.

The pop-up streetfood event at the Dumballs Road venue will also raise awareness of how the public can help men’s mental health causes by getting involved with NCMH’s research, as well as taking part in Movember.

Streetfood vendors at the event include Drunken Sailor and their flavour-packed gourmet hotdogs, The Original Goodfillas with their unique savoury and sweet filled pizza dough creations, plus Urban Eats Wales and their healthy take on comfort food staples. Meanwhile, Gwynne’s Ice Cream and A Lot of Waffle will be serving their signature artisan desserts.

In-keeping with the Movember theme, free clipper shaves will be on offer from Windsor Barbers to get ‘Mo Bros’ off to a smooth fundraising start, as well as free moustache face painting for ‘Mo Sistas’ and anyone else wanting to show their solidarity.

Representatives from the Movember Foundation will be on hand to sign up volunteers for this year’s campaign and offer tips for fundraisers. NCMH will also be running a free to enter mental health quiz with prizes from The Movember Foundation and some of Cardiff’s favourite brands, including Crafty Devil Brewing Company,Hangfire Smokehouse, The Celt Experience and I Loves The ‘Diff.

The team from the centre will also be letting people know how they can take part in ground breaking mental health research.

NCMH Director Professor Ian Jones said:

“Working in partnership with a great cause like Movember allows us to reach a whole new audience, and their emphasis on supporting mental health causes in recent years makes it a natural fit.

“Our aim is to hold an event where people of all ages can have a great time, while also raising awareness of mental health research, and how every one of us in Wales can help make a difference for those affected by mental ill health.”

Doors open at 7pm on Friday 30th October. Entry is free, but space is limited. Book your free tickets today and you will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win a £50 Amazon voucher on the night:
