New study reveals 28% rise in antidepressant prescribing amongst 6-18 year olds

Antidepressant prescribing amongst children and young people has increased by 28% in the past decade, despite the recorded diagnoses of depression falling by over a quarter, according to a study carried out by Swansea University.

Monthly support group for young people with bipolar

We’re hosting a monthly support group in partnership with Bipolar UK, which takes place on the fourth Tuesday of every month (6.15pm – 7.45pm). The aim is to provide a safe and supportive space for anyone aged between 18-25 to come and talk about how their mood swings are impacting on their quality of life and to explore some simple self management techniques with other people with shared experiences.

Clic – a new online community for people in Wales affected by a mental illness

Hafal’s new “Clic” online community launches at an event at Castle Gardens, Swansea next Wednesday (14th September, 11:30 – 15:00). The new, bilingual online community has been developed by people with direct experience of a mental illness in partnership with Hafal and the National Centre for Mental Health, and is funded by Big Lottery Wales.
